Williams has a contract of $70 million over five years, with an average income of $14 million per year entering his third year. According to Gagnon, “Williams is not even close to living up to his $14 million average annual salary as the eighth-highest paid safety in the sport.”

The safety’s 2023 cap hit of $7.26 million skyrocketed to $18.72 million going into the 2024 campaign. With the cap hit, he now has the third-highest cap number on the Ravens’ roster, behind only Humphrey and Jackson.

The New Orleans Saints selected Williams in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and as a rookie, he made an instant impression. As a rookie, the standout safety saw 15 games, recording 4 interceptions, 7 pass defenses, and 73 total tackles.

Throughout each of his five seasons with the Saints, Williams played in at least 14 games, which contributed to his longevity and dependability. Williams, a ball-hawking safety, was a mainstay of the Saints defense over those five years, causing havoc.
