With the T20 World Cup this year set to begin on June 2, the Afghanistan cricket squad will be hoping to make a big impression. For the massive tournament that will take place in the USA and the West Indies, the Asian team has already finalized their roster. Afghanistan announced a squad of fifteen players, with great all-arounder Rashid Khan leading the way.
They have prepared a balanced side comprising both experienced players and talented youngsters. Hashmatullah Shahidi, who was the captain of Afghanistan at the ODI World Cup last year, has failed to secure a place. His last T20I appearance came two years back. On the other hand, Karim Janat, Mohammad Ishaq and Noor Ahmad, who featured in the 2022 World Cup, have retained their spots.
