After joining a squad for Tiger Woods’ new indoor golf league, which is owned by Golden State Warriors champions Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, Australian sensation Min Woo Lee will be playing for NBA royalty.

After a 12-month break, Lee, the 34th-ranked player in the world, signed on to play in the newly established Bay Golf Club for Woods’ TGL, a tech-enhanced golf league that will launch in 2025.

Before the specially constructed stadium in Florida was wrecked by heavy weather, the Australian was scouted to join the inaugural league. The league lost out on Jon Rahm’s attendance due to the delay; he has since joined LIV Golf.

Lee will now be a part of the California-based group that also includes Wyndham Clark, Ludvig Åberg, and Shane Lowry, the reigning US Open winner.

The first-ever TGL season will premiere on ESPN during prime time on January 7, 2025.

The enormous new steel-supported building that will contain the stadium-style bleachers and enormous screens is planned to elevate indoor golf to a whole new level.

Woods and Rory McIlroy will be the focal points of the six teams, each of which will have four players from the PGA Tour. The new venture is being marketed as a competitor to LIV Golf’s entertainment value.

Although Lee isn’t competing in the Wells Fargo Championship this week, he will be one of five Australians competing in the second major of the year, the PGA Championship at Valhalla, next week.

Ahead of this week’s second major of the year, Cameron Smith has disclosed that he has required more treatment for a hip problem that has plagued him intermittently for the past two years.

However, he now has the confidence he needs going into the PGA Championship after his Sunday surge in Singapore and back-to-back team victories for Ripper GC.

The all-Aussie quartet received a “kick up the bum” in Singapore on Wednesday after spending the better part of two days celebrating their LIV victory in Adelaide. However, it took all three rounds and a scorching seven-under from Smith on the last day to produce a second consecutive team triumph.
