The Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Tuesday to maintain their hopes of making the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs in an exciting match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. But there was controversy around the game as well, with Royals captain Sanju Samson’s ejection igniting a contentious discussion.

controversy sparked by the contentious catch
With his form at its peak, Samson looked set to have an incredible innings until Shai Hope’s catch got him for 86 runs. Arguments between experts and enthusiasts about the legality of the catch were stoked by replays that revealed a close call. Tension on the pitch increased when the third umpire decided in favour of DC despite the decision being very disputed.

Following the match, a video surfaced showing Parth engaging in a cordial conversation with Samson and the Royals’ owner Manoj Badale at the stadium. The video of the interaction, shared by the Capitals, aimed to mend any tensions arising from the on-field confrontation.

“Our Chairman and Co-owner, Parth Jindal, caught up with Rajasthan Royals’ captain Sanju Samson & owner Manoj Badale, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium last night, after what was an exceptional contest of cricket. Parth also extended his congratulations to the RR skipper on being selected for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup,” wrote the Capitals.
