The news of Nottingham Forest’s unsuccessful appeal against their points deduction, according to defender Ola Aina, won’t cause the team to shift their concentration during their final two games.

The appeal board’s decision to uphold the Reds’ first four-point penalty for violating the Profitability and Sustainability Rules was made public on Tuesday. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team will play Chelsea on Saturday three points above the relegation zone as a result of the decision.

They will try to gain the necessary points on the field in order to cross the survival line. And since the PSR controversy has persisted since the club was initially accused of breaking the regulations in January, at least they now know exactly how many points they have.

From our perspective, it’s beneficial for both the club and ourselves, as we are aware of our position, Aina stated to Sky Sports. Nevertheless, it’s only a matter of going out and accomplishing the task we’ve always desired, which is earning points. That will be the main emphasis.

“There’s no denying that receiving points back would have been wonderful. But it doesn’t really matter as long as we’ve been working hard and focusing on earning points.

Although it was on the players’ thoughts initially, Aina is adamant that they have been able to put it out of their minds with time. Doing business in games has always been their first priority.

When inquired about whether it had served as a diversion, he responded, “At first, maybe a little bit for the squad.” But as time has passed, I think everyone has forgotten about it. All we’ve done is try to concentrate on our work.

“We are appreciative that we haven’t quite reached the point where we are pleading for these points to return. Although it may have caused some disruption at first, everyone has since moved on and resumed playing football.
