Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Celtic, has not made the Scottish Football Writers’ Manager of the Year shortlist, however Philippe Clement, the manager of Rangers, has.

After Michael Beale was fired, Clement joined the Ibrox club in October and has since seen a change in the team’s fortunes. Rangers, who trail their Old Firm opponents by three points heading into the final three Premiership games of the season, have come together to push Celtic all the way in the quest for the championship. On Saturday, the two teams play at Celtic Park. The Belgian also won the League Cup, and since Rangers will play Celtic in the Scottish Cup final at the end of the month, he has the opportunity to win three titles in as many games.

Rodgers is not one of the three other contenders for the Scottish Football Writers Association award, despite Celtic being the league leaders. Along him Clement will be Derek McInnes, whose Kilmarnock squad is presently fourth in the table, Tony Docherty, the manager of Dundee, and John McGlynn of Falkirk. In his first season in charge, Docherty led the Dee into the top six, and McGlynn’s Bairns won League One without dropping a single game.
