Joe Hart, the goalkeeper for Celtic, will play his final game on the field before hanging up his boots this weekend.

With six titles under his belt at Parkhead, the former England international stands to win a seventh major honour should the Bhoys defeat Rangers in the Scottish Cup final.

With 152 appearances in all competitions and 63 clean sheets, Hart has served Celtic with distinction for the past three years [Transfermarkt].

The 37-year-old, who has grown to be a legendary figure in Glasgow, was recognised last weekend by the Green Brigade, who presented a magnificent monument honouring his tenure at the club during the Hoops’ 3-2 victory over St Mirren.His absence from Celtic will surely be felt, but the veteran is still in the thick of things and is unlikely to give up until he wins another championship.

Before making his farewell bow, Brendan Rodgers has now provided some insight into how the locker room and Hart are feeling personally.

Speaking to official Celtic channels, Rodgers stated that his team is committed to helping Hart achieve his dream finish by defeating Rangers in the Scottish Cup.

He stated: “I think that will be there for Joe. I think there’ll be a certain understanding of this being his last professional game.

“But he’s he’s been absolutely brilliant in his time here and we would all love to to send him off into the sunset with another trophy to add to his collection and finish off what has been an absolutely incredible career.

“But Joe, likewise, is very focused. He’s won another league title and now again he’s lasered in on helping the team get this Scottish Cup.”
