Phil Hay has revealed what Illan Meslier told him regarding the save he made against Josh Sargent during Leeds United’s and Norwich City’s Play-Off semi-final second leg.
The Whites’ 4-0 victory over the Canaries on May 16 guaranteed them a spot at Wembley, but it could have gone differently.
Ashley Barnes played right through Sargent, and Elland Road held its breath. The tackle was missed by Ethan Ampadu’s sliding challenge, allowing the American to proceed one-on-one.
