The championship-winning NBL24 team, the Tasmania JackJumpers, have signed international point guard Jordan Crawford back for a one-year contract.

Crawford joined the JackJumpers last season with the ambitious goal of succeeding Josh Magette, the team’s original player. Despite a lacklustre finish to the season, Crawford became an essential part of the team’s revamped offensive line.

The diminutive guard averaged 16.1 points per game in his first season with the club after catapulting himself into early-season MVP discussions and pulled together one of the greatest Championship Series performances in NBL history to lead his side to victory over Melbourne United in the decisive Game 5.

He exploded for 27 points in the first half of the final game of the series and ended the clash with a game-high 32 points in Tasmania’s title win.

“It was an easy choice to want to come back and run it back for another season,” Crawford said.

“I love Tasmania. Winning the championship was incredible, but the fans made it so much more enjoyable.”

Crawford has joined Will Magnay, Jack McVeigh, Anthony Drmic and Majok Deng in recently signing a contract extension with the JackJumpers.
