Giannis Antetokounmpo, at 18 years old, was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round, and the community welcomed him so warmly that they practically adopted him and his family. In fact, the two-time NBA MVP has cited the Bucks’ and the city’s initial treatment of him and his family as a major factor in his decision to stay with the team despite media-created reports that he wants to play elsewhere.

Giannis’ three siblings have all followed him to the NBA since he first joined the league. After playing with the New York Knicks for his first five seasons, Thanasis Antetokounmpo joined Giannis on the Bucks for the final five. Following a single season with the Dallas Mavericks, Kostas Antetokounmpo won an NBA Championship with the Los Angeles Lakers.
