The spring transfer portal opened two days after the Virginia Tech football team’s 2024 Spring Game at Lane Stadium on April 13. A few players from the Hokies entered the winter portal, but overall, there was a lot of hold-out between the portal and players that declared for the NFL Draft.
Players simply had to register by April 30 in order to be eligible to transfer and play in 2024; they were not required to commit during the period between the portal’s opening and closure. The transfer portal closed on Tuesday. For the second time in four months, Brent Pry, the head coach of the Hokies, and his staff had a successful transfer portal.
