Even if he would prefer to win more NBA titles, Giannis Antetokounmpo can relax knowing that his legacy is assured. He did, after all, previously lead the Milwaukee Bucks to an NBA title in 2021. As a result, Antetokounmpo has more freedom to pursue his other goals, which include a covert “heist” scheme.

And no, after going all-in on Damian Lillard over the offseason, the Bucks have very little chance of pulling off a steal of a trade without having to part with a few key players. According to Variety’s Christopher Vourlias, Antetokounmpo will be working with Studio Galazio to launch a “new production banner focused on bringing internationally minded stories with Greek themes to global audiences” in this heist comedy film, which is modeled after the Ocean’s franchise.
The yet-to-be-named film will be written and directed by Christopher Andre Marks, the director of the critically acclaimed documentary King Otto. Veteran producers Shani Hinton, Raphaël Benoliel, Adam B. Stern, and Erika Aronson will produce alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The story and casting choices for this, Antetokounmpo’s first attempt at a scripted feature film, are currently “kept under wraps.” Vourlias said that this year will see the start of filming.

Two movies tracing the Bucks player’s journey from an unknown in Greece to one of the league’s biggest stars have been released. The sports biographical drama film “Rise” was released in 2022; in it, actors portrayed members of the Antetokounmpo family. READ MORE
