The transfer dominoes typically begin to fall in the beginning of June. After their summer break, football players are debating whether to stay put or try to make a move when the transfer window opens on June 14.

Birmingham City is preparing for another hectic summer, following a transformative window in which the team brought in 13 new players. After being demoted to League One, only eight of those players are still with the team, and their futures are uncertain. All of us are waiting for the new manager of the club, whoever that person may be, to assemble the team. There’s little doubt that the next CEO won’t have total control. The committee will select the top candidate for each position from among candidates submitted by the recruitment staff who meet the club’s recently implemented possession-based, aggressive philosophy.

Still, we may assume the incoming leader will have a significant voice. Garry Cook, the CEO, stated to BirminghamLive last year that failing to pay attention to the manager’s requirements and desires would be “professionally naive.”
