With the conclusion of their season, the Las Vegas Raiders have begun the search for a new head coach and general manager.

On Tuesday, the organization added a very valuable potential to its list of general manager candidates.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Raiders will meet with former Los Angeles Chargers General Manager Tom Telesco on Tuesday.

Telesco was sacked by the Raiders the day after they defeated the Chargers, 63-21, in Week 15, ending his decade-long reign as general manager.

When Telesco originally joined the Chargers in 2013, he immediately turned things around, as the team ended a three-year postseason drought with a trip to the Divisional Round despite only making the playoffs with a 9-7 record.

Unfortunately for Telesco, the Chargers missed the playoffs over the next four years. Only four years after falling 4-12 in 2015, the team went 12-4, tied for the league’s second-best record. They advanced to the Divisional Round, when they were defeated by the eventual Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots

Telesco is well-known for his draft success, having selected Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen, quarterback Justin Herbert, safety Derwin James, and edge rusher Joey Bosa. He also made a significant move in the 2022 offseason by trading for linebacker Khalil Mack, which played a significant role in the Chargers’ first playoff berth since the aforementioned 2018 club.
