Following a dismal five-week run of results, West Ham United manager David Moyes is currently facing significant pressure in his position.
Since coming back to West Ham in December 2019, David Moyes has done an excellent job overall, leading us to consecutive top seven Premier League finishes as well as our first major title since 1980.
Yet it seems like Moyes has only just realised that we have a problem in the final third – utterly baffling if you ask me!
The Scot addressed the media after yesterday’s 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford yesterday afternoon.
“I had doubts from the beginning about whether we would achieve anything on target. To be fair, it has happened in previous games as well, so it isn’t limited to today. Lately, we haven’t scored as many goals. Although we only managed one each against Bristol City, Sheffield United, and AFC Bournemouth, I thought we had more opportunities today. We had some opportunities and I think we played better today, but we just lacked consistency when it mattered most.
I understand that Moyes only became aware of our struggles in front of goal last month. I apologize, but that simply isn’t acceptable behavior from a purported top management.
We’re not exactly a fluid team, are we? Since November, the Hammers have only managed three goals once, during our 3-0 victory over Wolves in December.
We have only done it four times this season in the Premier League. Anyone who watches West Ham can’t fail to notice that we need a top-tier striker who fits our system.
However, it appears that West Ham manager David Moyes has only recently become aware of it.
