Reportedly, the Cowboys interviewed the former head coach of the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets to fill the vacant post.

After serving as the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator for the previous three seasons, Dan Quinn joined the Washington Commanders as head coach.

Quinn also brought Joe Whitt Jr., a defensive assistant and possible successor, to Washington.

Since 2017, Ryan has been employed by ESPN as a commentator. Before being let out, he led Buffalo in 2015 and 2016.

Before, in his first two seasons as the team’s head coach, Ryan guided the Jets to consecutive AFC Championship Games in 2009 and 2010.

Since 2008, Ryan has not served as the Baltimore Ravens’ defensive coordinator.

He had an interview with the Broncos last year for the DC position.

He is the twin brother of veteran NFL coach Rob Ryan, who served as the Cowboys defensive coordinator from 2011 to 2013, and the son of coach Buddy, the winner of two Super Bowl titles.

The most recent head coach to interview for the role of defensive coordinator with the Cowboys is Ryan.

Ron Rivera of the Washington Commanders and Mike Zimmer of the Minnesota Vikings have reportedly also had interviews for the job.

Aden Durde, the defensive line coach for the Cowboys, has reportedly also conducted interviews for the job.
