On Wednesday, four five-star recruits signed national letters of intent, giving Ohio State the third-best recruiting class in the nation.
On Wednesday, the Ohio State Buckeyes had a strong showing at early signing day.
During the day, 20 high-profile recruits signed national letters of intent to play for the Buckeyes beginning next season.
Four five-star recruits were named among the signees: cornerback Aaron Scott Jr., edge Eddrick Houston, and receivers Jeremiah Smith (the nation’s top-ranked recruit regardless of position) and Mylan Graham. The impressive turnout prompted a comment on the social networking platform, X, from 247Sports recruiting expert Brad Crawford.
“Ohio State is a huge winner today,” stated Crawford. “We’re counting on No. 1 overall pick Jeremiah Smith and fellow five-star defensive lineman Eddrick Houston.” The legend of the Buckeyes having no strength is certainly a myth.
Buckeyes coach Ryan Day was questioned about some of the players his team had brought in earlier that day during a press conference on Wednesday. Day praised everyone of the newcomers, including Houston.
“I’m really, really excited about Eddrick,” Day stated in response. “Larry put in a lot of effort on this one. He comes from a fantastic program in Buford, Georgia. We believe he will have an immediate impact. It had been a long road to signing day. However, we recognized him early on as a game changer. That was significant for us.”
