Marvin Lewis was the coach of the Cincinnati Bengals in a galaxy far, far away, long ago. Under his leadership, the team made many postseason appearances with both Andy Dalton and Carson Palmer, having taken over just before Palmer was chosen.

Bengals Roster: Realistic expectations for Jackson Carman in 2023

Even though the Bengals didn’t win a postseason game during his tenure, he was effective in bringing the franchise out of the 1990s and altering its culture. Hue Jackson is one of the names that comes up alongside folks like Mike Zimmer and Ken Zampese, among others, and he received a lot of assistance during his fifteen years in Cincinnati.

Jackson has reportedly been interviewed by the Las Vegas Raiders for a role on the team’s offensive staff, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

Jackson will now be interviewed by the Raiders for the role of offensive assistant coach after Lewis was named Antonio Pierce’s assistant head coach. Jackson may be interviewing for the running backs or wide receivers coach positions, both of which he had with the Bengals, as Kliff Kingsbury is anticipated to be named offensive coordinator.

Perhaps he will remain on staff and be hired as head coach somewhere else, in which case he will promptly trade two first-round picks for a player such as Davante Adams. If this is the case, we may formally declare that Lewis merely installed a sleeper cell at other franchises.
