The New York Knicks strengthened their roster on Thursday when they acquired former Knick and sharpshooter Bojan Bogdanovic from the Detroit Pistons. Quentin Grimes, who has started a lot of games for New York this season but has also struggled to find a regular spot in Tom Thibodeau’s system, was part of the package that the Knicks gave up to get the two three-point shooters from the Pistons.

Still, on Friday afternoon, Grimes used X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, to thank the Knicks supporters for their years of support.

Grimes remarked, “It was an honor to be able to represent the city and wear a Knicks jersey.” “Over the years, your love and support have meant the world to me. I will always be appreciative of my teammates, the Knicks organization as a whole, and most importantly, the fans. I’m grateful, New York.

This year, with a new Knicks team and Donte DiVincenzo playing excellent basketball, Josh Hart and OG Anunoby offering consistency at the wing, Quentin Grimes started to look a little bit like the odd man out. Nevertheless, it’s understandable why a youthful team like the Pistons would want to give the 23-year-old a shot because he’s a legitimate three-point shooter who can also play a strong defensive game.
