West Ham forward Michail Antonio was apparently the subject of a bid from Gremio, and he was happy to leave the London Stadium.

According to Brazilian reporter Diego Torbes via Gremio TimeLine, the 33-year-old’s failure to pass a medical with the South American team is the only reason he isn’t currently a Gremio player. If this is accurate, it raises serious concerns that David Moyes, the manager of the Hammers, would have permitted the Jamaica international to depart

the team, given how thin our attacking lineup already is. Although Antonio is currently sidelined due to injury, he has resumed training, and we could use his presence greatly increased. Moyes let Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals depart on deadline day, but it appears like we would have been even more lacking in the forward position had Antonio

Michail Antonio has just come incredibly close to leaving West Ham

The Jamaican was eager to join the South American team and the Hammers agreed to sell him, according to the allegation saying he failed a medical before moving to Gremio.

Even though our window closed on February 1st, Antonio could still leave West Ham and sign with Gremio because the Brazilian transfer window doesn’t close until March 7th.

He’s been a complete waste of time for the Hammers this season, so Moyes should replace him as soon as possible.

However, with the few choices Moyes already has up front, we really couldn’t afford to lose him this month.

and I’m sure Moyes will let him go in the summer in order to bring in a legitimate striker for West Ham.

But it would have been insane to let him go at this point. However, it appears that Moyes was well prepared to do just that, and that is extremely alarming in my opinion.

He continues to be vital to our style of play. We’ve missed Antonio a lot during the past few months, and Thilo Kehrer recently said that he “works like crazy” (Football London). It would have been absurd for the club to sell him at this time.
