Veteran coach Doc Rivers appears to be finished with his most recent comeback to the NBA head coaching ranks after just ten games as the Milwaukee Bucks’ head coach.

A few weeks ago, the Bucks surprised the basketball world by firing head coach Adrian Griffin after determining that he had failed to live up to expectations during his first few months in charge of the team. Considering that Milwaukee had an outstanding 30-13 record at the time the 49-year-old was fired, it was an unexpected move.

After the company began to pursue titles, they made the decision to replace Griffin with Doc Rivers, one of the most well-known coaches on the market. It was expected that the 62-year-old and his team would emerge as a legitimate title challenger this spring once they were on the same page. That integration hasn’t gone well at all to begin with.

The Milwaukee Bucks were defeated 113-110 by the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night in an unexpected upset. The Grizzlies are toward the bottom of the most recent NBA standings and will be without standout player Ja Morant for the remainder of the season, so the loss was shocking. The Bucks are now 3-7 since Rivers took over as head coach as a result of the defeat.

Bucks officially hire Doc Rivers, making him the 18th head coach in Milwaukee Bucks history

Apparently, the team’s subpar performance truly got to Rivers, as the former NBA Finals winner appeared worn out and angered by his players’ foolish choices against the Grizzlies during his post-game news conference.

“We bet in the corner for the fiftyth time on the opening play of the game. Guy drives, we have to assist, which results in a 3. Two guys on our set don’t realize what we’re running. Rivers yelled, “Then we missed a shot and nobody gets back.” We begin the third quarter in this manner. That provides you with all the information regarding our heads’ location. We had some guys in Cabo and other folks here.

Rivers made some tough remarks, implying that some of his players weren’t psychologically focused on the game and were instead already checked out and on vacation during the All-Star break. When his highly seasoned team returns, it will be interesting to see how they respond to the criticism.
