Forest made it through, however it wasn’t the best preparation for their first season back in the Premier League in 22 years.

Morgan Gibbs-White, a standout addition made by Forest, came from Wolves, where the Reds broke their own transfer record to sign him.

But Lage stated that he didn’t want to lose in the summer of 2022 to another athlete.

Shortly after Gibbs-White joined Forest, the center defender signed on and has since excelled as an asset to the team.

Boly will now play for the City Ground for a third year after agreeing to a contract extension.

Lage, however, believed that Wolves’ decision to let him join Forest wasn’t the best and didn’t want him to go.

“But some players were nearing the end of their contracts, and we lost key players like Fernando Marcal, Romain Saiss, and early in the new season, Willy Boly, Conor Coady, and Leander Dendoncker,” he said to the Express and Star.

“Unfortunately, during preseason, the team had not brought in enough replacements. Some of the ones that departed might have been kept.

The £4.6 million Boly was mostly outstanding for Forest last season, despite making just 21 appearances for the Reds.

In addition to being a player who has excelled at the highest level for the bulk of his career, he wins a lot of games in the air.
