The Milwaukee Bucks have more issues to resolve heading into the offseason than they did previously. NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith, however, believes that dealing All-Star point guard Damian Lillard as soon as feasible is the best course of action.

The Portland Trail Blazers’ Lillard was acquired by the Bucks front staff in the previous offseason in return for a package that included Jrue Holiday in a three-team transaction. It made sense to have someone closing out games next to Giannis Antetokounmpo in order to provide another reliable attacking threat.

Even though Lillard preferred to play for the Miami Heat, the point guard still gave his best for the Bucks. Over the course of the regular season, 4.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 7.0 assists. The former Rookie of the Year also connected 42 percent from the field, 35 percent from deep, and 92 percent from the free throw line.

Regretfully, Antetokounmpo and Lillard were sidelined for significant portions of the regular season and the Bucks’ opening round series against the Indiana Pacers due to serious injuries. When you factor in the turmoil that followed Adrian Griffin’s dismissal and the signing of Doc Rivers as his replacement, Milwaukee was never able to fully utilize their All-Star team to rule the NBA.
